AURORA, Ohio, Jan. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has completed the acquisition of American Fluoroseal Corporation (AFC), a Maryland based manufacturer of fluoropolymer bags for medical use and sterile sampling systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. The company operates from a single location in Gaithersburg (Maryland, United States) where both engineering and manufacturing are located.

AFC is considered a pioneer in the design and use of fluorinated ethylene propylene bags and has been producing innovative solutions for over 20 years. The company's products include Vuelife® culture bags; KryoSure® cryopreservation bags; and KryoVue® cryopreservation overwrap pouches.
