Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Raptors, Rhythm and Romance at Verde Canyon Railroad

CLARKDALE, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 01/02/13 -- Bald eagles aren't the only creatures who love the Verde Canyon in February! Fans of chocolate and live music find plenty to love during this romantic month. Eagle Watch is in full swing and Rhythm on the Rails and the Chocolates Lovers' Festival highlight February with sweet tunes and tasty treats.

On Sunday, February 10, the train will be rocking and rolling with Rhythm on the Rails. This one-day-only musical event features country, jazz, rock, and rhythm and blues entertainers, putting on a private concert in each car as they travel through the train. The bands rotate into each car, providing every passenger an intimate musical sound bite. The inaugural 2012 Rhythm on the Rails generated so much energy that the locomotives were practically unnecessary. 2013 Rhythm on the Rails promises to deliver the same. Mix this lyrical extravaganza with the awe-inspiring views of Verde Canyon and you will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Valentine's celebrations are that much sweeter during our Chocolate Lovers' Festival from February 12 through 17. During the train ride, in addition to our regular Champagne toast and appetizer buffet, our annual salute to romance features a platter of decadent desserts including hand-dipped candies, cakes and specialty-flavored coffees. There's even a flowing chocolate fountain with lots of goodies for dipping!

Any event inside the plush train cars faces stiff competition from Mother Nature. Panoramic windows frame the blossoming Canyon as spring returns, carpeting the landscape in a riotous display of fresh foliage and early wildflowers.

Eagles are the most majestic of birds and among the shyest. The American bald eagle is extremely sensitive to human activity and chooses nesting sites where it cannot be easily observed by people ... with one notable exception. They get along just fine with the passengers and crew of Verde Canyon Railroad. During Eagle Watch train passengers have the rare opportunity to watch these majestic raptors nest and raise the next generation of soaring royalty.

Verde Canyon Railroad runs all year with a schedule that varies seasonally. The depot is located in Clarkdale, 25 minutes from Sedona and two hours north of Phoenix, making Verde Canyon Railroad the perfect Arizona day trip. For an overnight stay, check out our Room, Ride and Meal packages at verdecanyonrr.com. Call 800-293-7245 or book online now.

It's not the destination, it's the journey
