Amazon Cloud Player Now Available on Roku Streaming Players

(NASDAQ:AMZN)–, Inc. and Roku, Inc. today announced that Amazon Cloud Player is now available on Roku streaming players, making it even easier for Cloud Player customers to enjoy their music anywhere they are. Amazon Cloud Player on Roku provides customers with the ability to play their music from the cloud directly on their TV or through a stereo system connected to their TV. Cloud Player is already available on Kindle Fire, Sonos Music Players, Android mobile devices, iPhone and iPod Touch, and now with Roku, customers have even more ways to enjoy their music anytime, anywhere.

“We’re excited to bring Cloud Player to Roku, one of the most popular and best-selling streaming entertainment platforms. Cloud Player music customers can now use Roku to listen to their music through their home entertainment systems,” said Steve Boom, Vice President of Music at Amazon. “Our goal is to make it easy for everyone to enjoy their entire music library anywhere they are–whether on the go or in the comfort of their homes – and Cloud Player on Roku does just that.”

“With Amazon Cloud Player, Roku customers have the ability to directly access their music collection, including any music purchased from Amazon’s library of more than 22 million audio tracks, on their TVs,” said Ed Lee, Vice President of Content Acquisition at Roku. “Just as Amazon Instant Video is extremely popular on the Roku platform, we expect Amazon Cloud Player to be an instant hit among our music listeners.”

Roku customers can download the Amazon Cloud Player channel from the Featured or Music category in the Roku Channel Store, for free. For more information on how to start listening to Cloud Player on Roku, visit

About Amazon Cloud Player

Cloud Player is a service that enables customers to securely store their personal music in the cloud and play it on a wide range of devices. Amazon Cloud Player is automatically integrated into Kindle Fire, so when a customer turns on their device, they can enjoy all the benefits of Cloud Player right out of the box. Customers can visit or download the app on iOS or Android.

Amazon Cloud Player eliminates the need to download files before playing them. MP3 songs and albums customers purchase from Amazon – even those purchased in the past – can be automatically saved to Cloud Player, so customers have a secure backup copy of the music they buy at Amazon, free of charge. Customers can also import the rest of their music, including music purchased from iTunes or ripped from CDs. All Amazon purchases and the first 250 imported songs are stored for free, or customers can import up to 250,000 songs for $24.99 per year.
