LabTech Software Releases Updates and Enhancements for Industry Leading Remote Monitoring and Management Platform

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- LabTech Software, developer of the only remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform designed by a managed service provider (MSP) for MSPs, today announced the release of LabTech 2012.1. The service pack update to its powerful remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform delivers updated features and new enhancements based on direct feedback and requests from its partner community to enable even more automated IT service delivery.

"The new additions to LabTech 2012.1 deliver critical product updates and enhancements chiefly from suggestions and requests from our highly focused partner community," said Matt Nachtrab, LabTech Software CEO. "LabTech is committed to partner-driven innovation and quality as we prepare to close out another year of rapid product growth."

LabTech 2012.1 includes updates to the core product and a number of new features to help LabTech partners further improve technician efficiency, including enhanced VNC performance for optimized remote control, additional integrations with third-party products, extended mobile device management (MDM) capabilities, and enhancements to LabTech Ignite, an industry-exclusive feature built directly into LabTech designed to provide IT service providers with the highest level of automation out-of-the-box.

More specifically, LabTech MDM feature enhancements include the service-oriented capabilities that LabTech partners requested, including data plan management, geo-location tracking, the ability for end-users to create tickets and upload screenshots, selective wipe of devices and new out-of-the-box MDM reports.

Feature enhancements to LabTech Ignite bring partners even more out-of-the-box functionality, including an optimized group structure, default service plans, mission-critical systems monitoring packs, industry-defined thresholds, auto-fix scripts, automated patch management, predefined searches and a simple to use interface. In addition, a new plug-in allows certain areas of LabTech Ignite to be turned on and off, so partners can customize the level of LabTech Ignite for their unique environment. When asked about the new features in LabTech 2012.1, Chad Tapp of Advanced Business Solutions applauded the new LabTech Ignite plug-in. "The new plug-in is awesome," said Tapp. "It makes managing the preloaded monitors and sensors within LabTech quick and painless."

The released LabTech 2012.1 update also includes new and improved integrations with third-party products and services, as well as utilities that extend the capabilities of LabTech, including:

  • HitmanPro Integration: Integrated LabTech interface that enables centralized control of instant malware scan and remediation activities
  • Multivendor Backup Management Dashboard Updates and Symantec Backup Exec™ Integrations: Optimized scheduler and new integrations with the industry leading Symantec Backup Exec 2012 backup product
  • Multivendor Antivirus Management Dashboard Updates and Symantec™ Endpoint Protection Integrations: Performance enhancements to improve scalability and lower server impact, as well as new integrations with the award-winning Symantec Endpoint Protection 12
  • Intel vPro KVM Enhancement: Support of integrated vPro KVM which remotely connects to workstations in blue screen states or other states that would normally require a site visit to enable technicians to quickly resolve issues and minimize client downtime
