DigitalGlobe and MapBox Bring the Power of Location Intelligence to Every Online User
New MapBox Satellite(TM), Featuring DigitalGlobe Imagery, Empowers Businesses and Consumers to Create and Publish Professional-Grade Maps via the Web

LONGMONT, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/11/12 -- DigitalGlobe (NYSE: DGI), a leading global provider of high-resolution earth imagery solutions, today announced that MapBox (www.mapbox.com), a provider of open source solutions for designing and publishing maps via the cloud, has chosen DigitalGlobe as their commercial earth imagery provider.

With the new MapBox Satellite service, users can incorporate DigitalGlobe's high-resolution satellite imagery as their maps' base layer for added quality and ground detail. In addition, MapBox Satellite allows users to integrate crowd-sourced information directly from OpenStreetMap (OSM) for increased relevance and location intelligence.

The added functionality enables MapBox to better serve their growing customer base, which includes social media platforms, online news outlets, and consumers, by empowering them to create professional-grade maps with no previous experience, and no specialized software required.

"Our partnership with DigitalGlobe gives us access to their vast library of imagery -- the largest of its kind," said Eric Gundersen, CEO of MapBox. "Thanks to DigitalGlobe, our customers will have better visual information, resulting in more effective maps."

"The success of MapBox is indicative of the changing face of geospatial expertise in the age of cloud computing," said Bert Turner, senior vice president of sales at DigitalGlobe. "Through the use of DigitalGlobe's high-resolution imagery, MapBox is further enabling every online user to harness the power of mapping and location intelligence."

Representatives from MapBox and DigitalGlobe will be demonstrating MapBox Satellite at the Mobile-Loco Conference in San Francisco, Calif. on December 11 in the MapBox booth. More information on MapBox services can be found on the company's webpage and blog.
