Group 1 Automotive Acquires Rivertown Ford In Georgia

HOUSTON, Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Group 1 Automotive, Inc. (NYSE: GPI), a Fortune 500 automotive retailer, today announced the acquisition of Rivertown Ford in Columbus, Ga. The dealership is expected to generate $70 million in estimated annual revenues.

"I am delighted to strengthen our relationship with Ford Motor Company and expand our existing footprint in Georgia with the addition of Rivertown Ford," said Earl J. Hesterberg, Group 1's president and chief executive officer.

Group 1 also announced that it disposed of a Nissan dealership in the Boston market area and an Audi dealership in the United Kingdom that generated $42.4 million in total trailing-12-month revenues.
