Digital River World Payments to Provide European Payments Services for Skullcandy

Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), the revenue growth experts in global cloud commerce, announced that it signed a global payments agreement with Skullcandy, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKUL), a high-growth performance lifestyle audio brand. Skullcandy is using the Digital River World Payments solution to build a localized European e-payments program. Based on the agreement, Digital River will provide locally-preferred payment options for Skullcandy’s online stores in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.

“We considered many factors in our search for a global payments provider. For us, it came down to the importance and ease of working with a single provider,” said Brett Barlow, vice president of interactive at Skullcandy. “As we expand our online stores into more European countries, we are relying on our Digital River World Payments solution to deliver a localized, easy-to-use payment experience for our customers.”

“We are excited to work with a vibrant brand like Skullcandy,” said Souheil Badran, senior vice president and general manager of Digital River World Payments. “Localizing the online payments experience is one of the most important steps businesses can take to build trust across their global base of customers. When well executed, a comprehensive payments program can turn site visitors into loyal customers and a cost center into a revenue stream.”

In a recent survey commissioned by Digital River, a group of international senior decision makers from several high-tech markets identified some of their most significant global e-business challenges. The results found that only about half of the companies surveyed have fully localized e-commerce basics, including payment options, for the online markets they serve. The survey echoed what Digital River hears from companies of all sizes as they prepare to enter the global online marketplace. Building, managing and growing an online operation on a global basis is a costly, time intensive and complicated proposition. The Digital River World Payments solution offers relevant payment options in nearly every country and over 170 transaction and display currencies. The solution features a wide range of customizable services for managing the complete payment lifecycle. These services, which work through a single payments connection, include checkout page optimization, multi-variate testing, real-time fraud detection, solutions to manage PCI exposure and currency risk, as well as advanced back-office reconciliation services and business intelligence tools.
