MELBOURNE, Australia, Dec. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Growing demand for English testing in Jordan has seen IDP Education open its first testing centre for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in Amman, in partnership with University House for Consultations & Studies.

The IDP Education office in Amman also offers advice and support services to help students select the best options to study abroad. IDP student advisors assist with visa applications, test applications and enrolment with a university in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to the new Amman test centre, IDP Education is responding to demand for its trusted services across the Middle East with new IELTS test centres in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Libya, Oman, Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Maher El Bakry, Middle East Regional Director for IDP Education, said more people are looking to gain an international qualification or increase their employability in English-speaking countries.

"People who plan to study or work in countries such as the United Kingdom and even as far afield as the USA and Canada are coming to us for their IELTS test," Mr El Bakry said.

"IDP Education's new IELTS test centre in Amman will allow even more people to achieve their ambitions. In addition to registering for their IELTS test, students and their parents who visit the IDP office can benefit from the advice of our student advisors to help them plan and prepare for their studies abroad.

"Over the past 40 years, IDP has built strong relationships with universities in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In fact, IDP Education is part-owned by 38 universities in Australia."

Future IELTS test takers participated in an IELTS Masterclass hosted by IDP Education on Monday 26 November.
