Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

PerspecSys Wins 2012 Cloud Computing Excellence Award for Its Innovative Cloud Data Protection Gateway

PerspecSys Inc., the leader in cloud data security solutions for the enterprise, today announced it has been selected by TMC, a global, integrated media company, as a 2012 Cloud Computing Excellence Award winner. Presented by Cloud Computing Magazine, the Cloud Computing Excellence Awards recognize companies that have most effectively leveraged cloud computing in their efforts to bring new, differentiated offerings to market.

PerspecSys was chosen as a winner because its Cloud Data Protection Gateway eliminates two of the biggest barriers that prevent companies from embracing cloud computing: data security and data control. The PerspecSys Gateway uses a unique, patent-pending approach that features strong encryption and tokenization technologies to help enterprise and public-sector organizations secure sensitive data – keeping it on-site and within their complete control when using popular cloud applications (e.g. Oracle CRM On Demand, Salesforce.com). The Gateway not only improves an organization’s overall mission-critical cloud security, but also helps meet strict legal and industry data privacy, residency and regulatory compliance requirements – making the move to the cloud a reality for business that once thought it impossible.

“Receiving a Cloud Computing Excellence Award is truly the icing on the cake for what has become an amazing year of growth and recognition for PerspecSys,” said David Canellos, CEO of PerspecSys. “We’re gratified to see our Cloud Data Protection Gateway recognized as one of the solutions driving the cloud computing industry forward. While more and more companies are looking to adopt the cloud, many are still running into huge roadblocks when it comes to data security, residency and compliance. PerspecSys removes those barriers – and this award is acknowledgement of our success to-date and the exciting opportunities ahead.”

The PerspecSys Gateway works by intercepting sensitive data while it is still on-premise, replacing the data with a random tokenized or encrypted value, rendering it meaningless should anyone outside of the company access the data while it is being processed or stored in the cloud. In addition, the PerspecSys solution offers the differentiated ability to preserve cloud application functionality – even when the data is tokenized or strongly encrypted – using encryption such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) listed FIPS 140-2 compliant modules. With PerspecSys, end users have access to features and functions such as ability to search and sort data, send e-mails, and generate reports – even on sensitive data that has been tokenized or encrypted.

“PerspecSys has been recognized for their achievement in bringing innovation and excellence in the market while leveraging the latest technology trends to create an enriched user experience,” said Erik Linask, Group Editorial Director, TMC.

“Recognizing leaders in the advancement of cloud computing, TMC is proud to announce PerspecSys as a recipient of the second annual Cloud Computing Excellence Award,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “PerspecSys’ Cloud Data Protection Gateway has demonstrated innovation as well as the ability to improve the cloud.”
