Loma Linda University Medical Center Selects MethodCare Inc.’s Big Data Solution to Optimize Charge Integrity

MethodCare, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare predictive analytics solutions and services, announced today that Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC), the largest hospital in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, will implement its Charge Capture Solution to automate processes and secure greater, faster revenue from missed charges.

LLUMC will leverage MethodCare’s cloud-based predictive analytics solution to optimize its charge capture processes and expedite revenue recovery from missed charges. MethodCare’s Charge Capture Solution seamlessly integrates with LLUMC’s existing Health Information System (HIS), and supports the system’s upcoming transition to Epic without any additional burden on LLUMC’s resources.

MethodCare’s data mining innovation leverages our data assets so we can operate smarter and more efficiently around charge capture,” said Cindy Schmidt, vice president, LLUMC. “MethodCare’s data-driven approach provides us access to real-time analytics for the first time. We now know where and why missed charges occurred, which means we can curb additional revenue leakage before it hits our bottom line.”

MethodCare’s Charge Capture Solution includes a robust suite of advanced dashboards and reports to provide LLUMC with the analytics in real-time to help make proactive, sustainable improvements and continue its endeavors to remain at the forefront of revenue cycle management.

“We are excited to work with a pioneer in medical innovation like LLUMC because they understand that leveraging data-driven technology yields better financial and clinical outcomes,” said Jeff Kaplan, chief executive officer, MethodCare, Inc. “Our goal is to help LLUMC secure significant cost savings which they in turn can apply towards their high quality patient care and services.”

Loma Linda University Medical Center University Hospital and its affiliates are now the primary regional tertiary medical facility for inland Southern California with 880 patient beds. The Loma Linda University Medical Center also includes the Heart and Surgical Hospital, the Children’s Hospital and physician clinics, the Loma Linda Behavioral Medicine Center, and collectively sees over 30,000 inpatients and about 750,000 outpatient visits a year.
