TSYS Celebrates 15-year Partnership With Commercial Bank of Africa

TSYS (NYSE: TSS) today announced the celebration of its 15-year partnership with Kenya’s Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA), one of East Africa’s leading banks.

CBA became a TSYS client in 1997 when it began using the PRIME card management solution to manage issuing, acquiring, collections and rewards for its suite of Visa™ products. Subsequently, it has also deployed TSYS’ fraud and ATM network management solutions, as well as PRIME’s Instalments module in order to be the first financial institution to deliver instalment programmes to the Kenyan market. In 2012, CBA continues to use TSYS PRIME to drive payments excellence on the continent with the recent launch of the first U.S. dollar-denominated Visa credit cards in Africa and plans to pursue a multi-country approach to issuing in Tanzania and Uganda in 2013, using the PRIME platform.

Celebrating at an award ceremony, CBA chief executive officer Jeremy Ngunze said, “We would like to thank TSYS for its first-class support during these last 15 years and for the help it has given us in introducing our portfolio of successful product offerings. Throughout, our relationship has been one of partnership, and we are delighted to have chosen a people-centered company with such a high regard for trust, integrity and business values.”

“TSYS is proud of its long association with CBA and congratulates it on the commitment to innovation it has shown over the years,” said Jaffar Agha-Jaffar, managing director, Middle East and Africa, TSYS. “We look forward to further extending our strong partnership and help CBA continue to deliver an exciting range of new products and services backed by our renowned support and global expertise.”

TSYS has a global footprint spanning more than 130 clients in more than 70 countries and has an established presence in Africa, where it supports more than a dozen banks from its offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
