Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

R. Pete Gum Named Executive Director Of IMSA

NEWARK, N.Y., Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- R. Pete Gum has been named Executive Director of IMSA.  The announcement was made by the IMSA Board of Directors after a nationwide search to replace Marilyn Lawrence who retired after eighteen years as the IMSA executive director.  In his new role, he will be responsible for providing the strategic vision, leadership and coordination of IMSA's strategies and activities, enabling IMSA to support its mission and objectives.

"We are pleased to have Pete Gum as our new Executive Director," said Belinda Younger-Gurley, IMSA president.  "He brings a wealth of association management experience including a proven track record of membership growth and building and maintaining relationships with members and affiliated organizations."

IMSA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and use of electric signaling and communication systems in furtherance of public safety.  IMSA's approximately 12,000 members include representatives of federal, state, county, city, township, and borough governmental bodies, as well as representatives of governmental bodies of foreign nations.  IMSA works to improve the efficiency, installation, construction, and maintenance of public safety equipment and systems by increasing the knowledge of its members in several diverse technical fields.  IMSA offers educational and certification programs in a variety of public safety disciplines including Traffic Signals, Signs and Markings, Work Zone Traffic Control, Public Safety Telecommunications, Municipal and Interior Fire Alarm Systems and Fiber Optics.

Mr. Gum came to IMSA's International office from Harrisburg, PA where he served as CEO of Mid Atlantic BX (Builders Exchange) for nearly 20 years.  Mid Atlantic BX is a commercial construction association providing services to general contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, the design community, and owners, both public and private, of commercial and public use facilities.  During his tenure with the BX they were able to grow the organization from a local association to a regional association that was a model in membership, service, and budget growth for other Builders Exchanges throughout the United States and Canada.  Prior to Mr. Gum's tenure at the BX he was an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Central Penn College.   He has a B.S. in Education from Bloomsburg University in PA and an MBA in Accounting from Mount St. Mary's University in MD.
