Enterprise Information Protection Leader Verdasys Names Peter Tyrrell Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Verdasys, a leader in Enterprise Information Protection solutions for Global 2000 and mid-sized companies, has named Peter L. Tyrrell to the position of Vice President of Worldwide Sales. In his new position, Tyrrell will be responsible for driving the sales strategies and overseeing the efforts of Verdasys' growing sales team for North America, Europe and Asia.

A veteran of 23 years in software sales management and business development, Tyrrell comes to Verdasys from Verivo Software, a mobile enterprise application development company, where he served as Executive Vice President of Sales. While at Verivo (formerly Pyxis Mobile) he built and led a 24-person team that included direct and indirect sales, pre-sales support and lead generation. Responsible for driving all revenue, Tyrrell was successful in doubling corporate revenue in these teams first year and showing unprecedented growth in the years that followed.

"Pete joins Verdasys at a time of excitement and growth, providing expertise to drive the expansion of our customer base worldwide," said Jim Ricotta, Verdasys CEO. "Having worked with marquee Fortune 500 companies like Allstate Insurance, Halliburton, Audi and Thomson Reuters, he understands how to develop customer relationships and deliver value. We are delighted to welcome him to the Verdasys management team."

Tyrrell also worked for Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) in a variety of domestic and international sales management roles culminating in the position of Vice President, Worldwide Sales Operations and Marketing. In this capacity, he drove organizational planning and development for the engineering software firm. During Tyrrell's tenure at PTC, revenues grew from $11 million to over $1 billion. Tyrrell also served in executive sales management roles at 170 Systems and Vividon.

"The one constant in business today is the value of enterprise information and the danger it faces to both internal and cyber threats," said Tyrrell. "Verdasys holds a leadership position in the enterprise information protection market and is the only solution provider to offer a managed service for Data Loss Prevention, extending our reach to mid-sized customers. With a world-class team developing leading edge products, Verdasys is poised to grow at unprecedented rates, and I look forward to helping the company achieve great success."
