Specops Software Brings Password Self-Service to Your Phone

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/27/12 -- Specops Software, a global innovation leader in desktop management and password management software, today announced that its award winning Specops Password Suite has taken password management to a new level with the introduction of the new self-service Active Directory password reset apps for Android, iPhone and Windows Phone. Specops remains committed to evolving with the demands of the modern users.

The new Specops Password Suite 6.1 is an Active Directory integrated password management system which enhances, enforces and extends Windows password security. Consisting of three separate products, Specops Password Policy, Specops Password Sync and Specops Password Reset, the solution gives Windows administrators complete control over the password security throughout their organization.

"People have been talking about the death of passwords as a security measure for decades," said Thorbjörn Sjövold, CTO of Specops Software. "However, real world experience shows that passwords remain the most common authentication mechanism in the world. With the increased amount of password related attacks, it's necessary to find a way to strengthen your level of password security without decreasing the productivity of your users."

Specops Password Suite allows the creation of granular, security enhanced password policies in Active Directory. By utilizing the syncronization capability of the solution to extend those secure passwords to other connected business systems or cloud services the users are no longer required to remember a multitude of passwords.

Finally, users who do forget their secure passwords have the ability to reset them from whatever location or device they have access to when the problem occurs. This includes another groundbreaking technology -- the ability to replace locally cached Windows logon credentials when the domain password is reset, even if the computer is not connected to the domain.

Investing in Specops Password Suite 6.1 gives organizations of all sizes better control over their password security while dramatically cutting password related costs. Specops Password Suite 6.1 is available for download at www.specopssoft.com.
