Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

X-pect more: Ziehm Imaging at RSNA 2012
More imaging, more C-arms and more presence in the US market

CHICAGO, Nov. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Intraoperative imaging at its best: Visitors to the Ziehm Imaging booth at this year's RSNA can expect various innovations. The C-arm specialist presents a number of new technologies and its proven product portfolio for mobile imaging.

Improved C-arm image quality
Two brand new features ensure enhanced image quality for the broadest range of Ziehm Imaging C-arms. With ZIR (Ziehm Iterative Reconstruction), the innovation leader for mobile C-arms now brings iterative reconstruction techniques, so far only known from CT imaging, to mobile C-arms. The in-house developed, specialized algorithm minimizes fan and metal artifacts in 3D reconstructions. The result: significantly more distinguishable anatomy, defined bone crests and optimum slices views in various planes. ZAIP (Ziehm Adaptive Image Processing) filters noise, enhances edges and optimizes doses for all C-arms with flat-panel detector, resulting in outstanding X-ray images in the OR.

Global cooperation with Stille for the Hybrid Edition
Thanks to a global distribution agreement, Ziehm Imaging is presenting a package solution for hybrid ORs for the first time. The Nuremberg-based manufacturer now offers OR tables from the Swedish manufacturer Stille to complement its Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition.

The Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition represents a cost-effective alternative to fixed installed systems in hybrid operating rooms. Excellent image resolution, a powerful 20 kW generator and an active liquid cooling system provide intraoperative imaging even for complex procedures. The new OR table with a floating table delivers maximum ease-of-use, reduces radiation exposure and, with its high level of flexibility, is ideal for use in hybrid operating rooms.

Ziehm Solo: Almost 1,000 installations worldwide
Since its introduction at ECR 2010, the Ziehm Solo has been sold almost 1,000 times. The C-arm delivers optimal performance for pain management, orthopedics and lithotripsy. Versatile viewing options enable the physician to configure the unit according to individual requirements. Its compact design makes the Ziehm Solo first choice for small operating theatres.

Ziehm Imaging represented in MITA board of directors
Nelson Mendes, CEO of Ziehm Imaging Inc, has been elected to become a member of the board of directors of MITA, the Medical Imaging organization inside NEMA. MITA provides leadership for the medical imaging and radiation therapy industries on legislative and regulatory issues at the state, federal and international level. "The election of Ziehm Imaging proves our leading role in the medical imaging community in the Unites States," says Nelson Mendes. "I feel honored to become a part of the board of directors and having a voice in the directions of our industry."
