Lawyer Wins Drug Possession, Cultivation, Firearms and Drug Raid Case

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/19/12 -- LibertyBell Law Group lawyer Joshua Matic gets a serious 5 count felony case dismissed. The case involved drug possession, cultivation, sales of drugs, firearms, marijuana and methamphetamine at a suburban home. A judge from the Los Angeles Superior Court in California dismissed the firearms and drugs case after the lawyer was able to suppress all evidence.

During the drug raid, handguns, shotguns, marijuana plants, and methamphetamine were seized. The search warrant also identified four individuals, whose persons were to be searched, and a vehicle. It was ordered that all the rooms, attics, basements and surrounding grounds of the million dollar home sitting pretty in the wealthy neighborhood be searched.

An informant communicated to the police details of alleged drug crime transactions at the home located in a greater Los Angeles suburban neighborhood. As a result, law enforcement started an investigation and surveillance of the home. Later, a search warrant was issued wherein evidence was taken and four individuals were arrested and taken into custody.

Lawyer Joshua Matic motioned to quash the search warrant and suppress evidence. The defense lawyer established that the search warrant conducted in obtaining the evidence lacked probable cause.

"This is an example of the police acting overzealously on an incomplete investigation. The Judge agreed that while the police have a job to investigate criminal behavior, they must also follow the law in doing so. In this case, the constitution," says Joshua Matic, a lawyer from LibertyBell Law Group, whose experience spans countless serious and tough cases, ranging from fraud to drugs, sex related cases and more.
