Rocky Mountain Honda Dealers, KMGH and KKTV Launch Care Package Donation Drive for Troops

DENVER, Nov. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rocky Mountain Honda Dealers, KMGH, KKTV and the Colorado National Guard Family Program have partnered up to collect donations to send in care packages to the troops overseas. Nov. 17 through Dec. 15, anyone can stop by their nearest Rocky Mountain Honda Dealership and drop off donations. In addition, the Rocky Mountain Honda Dealerships are generously donating $5,000 to the Wounded Warriors Project and $5,000 towards the cost of shipping the donations overseas.

This is the third annual "Support Our Troop" promotion sponsored by Rocky Mountain Honda Dealers, KMGH and KKTV. This year's donations for the troops include wash cloths, pillowcases, ready-to-eat food items, personal hygiene items and recreational products. A complete list of donation suggestions can be found at TheDenverChannel.com or on RockyMountainHondaDealers.com.

Comcast will be running a promotion in conjunction with the troops promotion. Each person who donates at their Rocky Mountain Honda Dealer will fill out an entry form. On Dec. 8, Comcast will draw one person who wins a Jet Blue travel voucher for $2,400. The Wounded Warriors will also determine a worthy veteran, active or in-active, who will receive a $2,400 Jet Blue travel voucher so they can visit their family or friends.

"We are proud to partner with the Rocky Mountain Honda Dealers and the Colorado National Guard Family Program," said Robin Hoffman, Creative Services Director, KMGH-TV/Azteca America Colorado. "Our troops are making a great sacrifice that affects them and their loved ones."

On Monday, Dec. 17 at 10am, a caravan of Hondas filled with the donations will drive to the Colorado National Guard Armory, where a packing party to prepare the care packages for shipment will take place. Denver's 7 and KKTV employees, Honda staff, volunteers and family members are welcome to attend. The Armory is located at 6848 S. Revere Pkwy Centennial, CO 80112. To participate, please contact Ted Vanderveen, KMGH-TV Senior Marketing Specialist at 303-328-5432.
