QuickPlay Media Continues Global Expansion with Addition of New Office in Singapore

QuickPlay Media, the leading provider of managed service solutions for the distribution of premium media to IP-connected devices, today announced continued global expansion with the addition of a new office in Singapore. “There is a massive opportunity for QuickPlay’s cloud-based multiscreen services in Asia and we are excited to establish a home base for the region in Singapore,” said Wayne Purboo, President and CEO of QuickPlay Media. “With more than 50 percent* of global multiscreen TV service subscribers, Asia is becoming an increasingly important market for our services. With a proven and seasoned leader like Tash driving our efforts in the region, we look forward to reaching new global milestones for QuickPlay in the coming months and years.”

Stamatelos has more than 27 years of experience managing international sales and operations and has spent the past 22 years working throughout Asia for both multi-national and start-up organizations. His experience includes business development, building and overseeing partner channel programs, performance consulting, organizational change management and sales strategy and execution. He joins QuickPlay from VMWare, where he was most recently the Cloud Senior Sales Director for Asia Pacific and Japan. Previously, Stamatelos served as Sales Director at Amdocs in South East Asia where he was also responsible for establishing and managing Amdocs' Vietnam operations.

“The proliferation of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices, coupled with the end-user experience and expectation of content on any device, anywhere, anytime, is propelling a change in how people consume products from their service provider,” said Stamatelos. “A huge shift is upon us and the way telecommunication companies, cable operators and broadcasters address these new challenges will ultimately define them and their bottom line. QuickPlay is poised to take advantage of these market dynamics and I look forward to playing a key role in the continued success of the company as the adoption of multiscreen services continues to skyrocket.”

QuickPlay provides multiscreen solutions, including Live TV, Video on Demand and Media Transformation. The company’s customers include leading brands such as AT&T, Bell, Rogers, Samsung, TVB and Verizon. QuickPlay manages assets across more than 4,000 content providers on behalf of its customers, delivering more than 40 million downloads and streams of live and on-demand content to IP-connected devices each month. QuickPlay most recently powered the Olympic Games on Bell Mobile TV.
