Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Tropical Ridge Fitness Park Grand Opening Celebration November 14th 1030AM
Tropical Ridge Fitness Park at 211 North "H" Street on Wednesday Ribbon Cutting 11AM

LAKE WORTH, Fla., Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lake Worth Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) in cooperation with the City of Lake Worth would like to invite the public to the grand opening of the Tropical Ridge Fitness Park at 211 North "H" Street on Wednesday November 14th. Over two years ago, the CRA partnered with the Trust for Public Land, the Quantum Foundation, Wells Fargo Bank and School District of Palm Beach County to make this vision a reality. "We hope that the park helps encourage families to go outside and get moving. Daily physical activity is of vital importance not only for children but for adults and this park will help promote that," said Erica Whitfield, Healthy Kids, Healthy Community Program Coordinator.

The first phase of this project was completed this year on City owned property and will become Lake Worth's newest park. This initial phase includes the installation of nine new fitness workout stations. The workout stations were provided to the City courtesy of The Trust for Public Land. The Trust for Public Land conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens, and other natural places, ensuring livable communities for generations to come. The Trust for Public Land's Fitness Zones provide a fun, accessible, and social environment where people can enjoy getting fit. These clusters of outdoor gym equipment provide park visitors with a cardiovascular and resistance/weight bearing workout.

"This is a wonderful example of how numerous organizations have come together, developed a united vision, and worked collaboratively in order to benefit the residents of Lake Worth," says Mayor Pam Triolo. "It is amazing how much can be accomplished by focusing on our common goals."

The CRA, and its partners, anticipate providing additional phases of work at the park (including new playground equipment) when funding becomes available.

This project would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors including, the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, Compass, Palm Beach County Health Department, Palm Healthcare Foundation and the Tropical Ridge Neighborhood Association.

The grand opening ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. in front of the park which is located at 211 North 'H' Street. Speeches from local officials will be followed by free glucose screenings and risk tests courtesy of the FAU Diabetes Center, health education and exercise tips. All Lake Worth residents and members of the media are invited to attend. Parking is available along all side streets or at the Compass Center (202 North 'H' Street).

For more information on the Tropical Ridge Fitness Zone, please call the Lake Worth CRA office at (561) 493-2550 or visit www.lakeworthcra.org.
