Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

The Company Store Keeps Veterans Warm This Holiday Season
The Company Store Donates 10,000 Comforters to Military Service Families Through Operation Homefront

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/13/12 -- In recognition of America's military servicemen and women and their families, The Company Store® is spearheading "Operation: Comforter Drop" in partnership with Operation Homefront. Between November 11th and the end of the year, The Company Store will donate 10,000 comforters to provide comfort and warmth to the families of America's veterans and military service members. Many of these recipients in New York and New Jersey have been deeply affected by Hurricane Sandy and will be among the first to receive these comforters from The Company Store.

With the support of The Company Store and Operation Homefront volunteers, Operation: Comforter Drop will visit more than 20 offices and other locations serving 48 states during the holiday season, delivering new comforters to thousands of children of veterans and active duty soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Considering all that military service men and women have done for America, it's unfortunate that so many come home and often struggle to provide basic necessities for their families," said The Company Store Director of Marketing Karen Feldman. "Operation: Comforter Drop allows us to express our gratitude nationwide, and bring warmth to thousands of military children."

By partnering with Operation Homefront, The Company Store will reach those families most in need, as roughly 96 percent of military families served by the organization live at an income level 80 percent below the median income for the communities in which they reside.

The Company Store is renowned for providing 100 years of quality, comfort and care through the best US-crafted comforters, fashion bedding, and home décor for adults and children. Operation: Comforter Drop is The Company Store's second collaboration with Operation Homefront. The Company Store donated over 6,000 backpacks, messenger bags, lunch boxes, pencil cases, wallets and pens to Operation Homefront's "Back to School" program.
