SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/13/12 -- Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the performance company, today announced its Riverbed® Stingray product family has been positioned as Champion in Info-Tech Research Group's 2012 Vendor Landscape: Application Delivery Controllers (ADC). The Stingray product family is recognized for its flexibility and ease of deployment into any physical, virtual, or cloud environment due to its software and virtual form factors. As a Champion in the report, Riverbed is honored for offering customers excellent value, having a strong market presence, and being an industry trendsetter. "With the industry transitioning to multi-cloud deployments, sophisticated software-defined data centers (SDDC), and enhanced Web performance, organizations need a cloud-aware software ADC that fits seamlessly into these environments," said Apurva Davé, vice president of Products and Marketing, Stingray Business Unit at Riverbed. "Our performance solutions are developed from the ground up with the flexibility to fit into the ever-changing IT architecture of the future. Info-Tech Research Group recognizing us as a leader in the ADC market signifies the value that Stingray Traffic Manager software provides to enterprises by delivering the performance, flexibility, and scalability to keep organizations competitive." The Riverbed Stingray product family includes the Stingray Traffic Manager software ADC, Stingray Aptimizer Web content optimization (WCO) that further speeds Web application response times, and Stingray Web Application Firewall that provides advanced application-level protection capabilities. Info-Tech highlighted several key differentiators of the Stingray product family when awarding it the Champion position, including the custom scripting capability with Stingray TrafficScript that provides organizations with granular control over their applications, advanced features such as WCO, and the deep application-level security capabilities. "When we started our search for an advanced load balancing and traffic management solution, we wanted to avoid investing in hardware appliances. We had made such a concerted effort to eliminate hardware from our infrastructure and move to a fully virtualized environment. We definitely did not want traditional appliances to pull us backward to a hardware-based environment. Riverbed was clearly the only vendor that could leverage our fully virtual environment to be optimized 100 percent of the time," said William Moore, executive vice president and chief technology officer, CareCore National. "Deploying the Riverbed vADC solution has been extremely impactful to CareCore, and from our investment we made significant cost savings and increases in revenue. There is no question that the success of CareCore is beholden to its Web services. Integrating Riverbed has provided us with the reliability and accessibility that has been a lifeline to our skyrocketing growth and success."
Riverbed Drives Innovation, Puts Performance First with ADC "Stingray Traffic Manager software is the ideal ADC to support SDDCs as it can be deployed easily in any private, public, and hybrid cloud environment to accelerate high performing multi-tier applications," added Davé. "Today, organizations require a next-generation ADC that is as dynamic as the application, can apply application specific optimizations and policies, and can deliver advanced layer 7 features and services. Stingray Traffic Manager software also enables customers to create, manage, and deliver critical online services more quickly, flexibly, securely, and at a lower cost." Additional Resources
