Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Atlanta Meeting Space Transformed With Full Renovation at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead
Luxury Buckhead Hotel Unveils Newly Designed Atlanta Meeting Facilities With Stylish Decor and Exceptional Culinary Offerings

ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/12 -- The completion of a 14-week transformation of more than 24,000 SF of Atlanta meeting space at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead is announced by Erwin Schinnerl, general manager. The floor-to-ceiling renewal includes ballrooms and prefunction space on the first floor as well as boardrooms and meeting rooms on the second floor of the Buckhead hotel.

"Corporate leaders and meeting planners will find the new space visually beautiful and feature-rich to enhance the business experience for their colleagues and customers," said Mr. Schinnerl. "The only unchanged aspect is our commitment to unequalled service."

Buckhead Ballrooms and Prefunction Space
The centerpiece of the new space is the magnificent Grand Ballroom (8,970 SF). The four wrought iron chandeliers are replaced with six crystal chandeliers customized for the Atlanta luxury hotel in the Czech Republic, creating bursts of glittering brilliance overhead -- the effect of 30,000 hand-applied crystals. Over scale antiqued mirrored sconces with satin silver finishes are set against platinum wrapped silk wall panels. Custom carpet in subtle shades of platinum, silver, gold, periwinkle and pale green complete the color palette.

A range of new stage lighting, décor and projection options enables meeting planners to design large-scale presentations and entertainment in the Grand Ballroom. Among the new installations are eight half-ton skyhook rigging points, three 20-amp constant power circuits, CAT6 tie lines, premium audio systems and state-of-the-art dimmable LED fixtures.

The luxury Atlanta hotel's ballroom prefunction area (2,240 SF) features decidedly stylish customized furniture in gleaming ebony with silver leaf accents, sofas, tall wingback chairs, tables and Italian blown glass lamps. The custom carpet's rich shades of hazelnut, chocolate, gold and soft periwinkle are dramatic against the new velvety off-white walls. Overhead, faceted amethyst crystal drops and silk shades are added to the extraordinary original crystal chandeliers.

The Plaza Ballroom (2,494 SF) echoes the colors and décor of The Grand Ballroom. The oil paintings are removed, and the new wrapped silk wall panels showcase only the over scaled satin silver antiqued mirrored sconces, presenting a fresh setting for meetings, luncheons and receptions. The hazelnut, chocolate, gold and periwinkle carpet extends into The Gallery (3,015 SF), and is luxuriant against the polished mahogany-paneled walls of Buckhead's only function space with a wall of 20-ft tall windows.

Atlanta Meeting Rooms and Boardrooms
The rich color scheme continues to the second floor, transitioning into soft blues and deep golds in the two boardrooms and seven meeting rooms (624 to 936 SF each). New window treatments allow sunlight into the rooms and enhance the wide bay window views. Sleek LG 55-inch class video screens are installed in the boardrooms for efficient presentations and teleconferencing.

New Banquet Menus and Presentations
Coinciding with the completion of the Atlanta meeting facilities, Executive Chef Franck Steigerwald's new banquet menus and presentations assure a new culinary experience. Chef Steigerwald joined The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead recently from the St. Regis New York where he created culinary programs for conferences, weddings and celebrations.
