Fabasoft wins “Best in Cloud” Award

The “Best in Cloud” awards, hosted by specialist German IT publication Computerwoche, honor the best cloud providers in the German speaking world. The Fabasoft Cloud Platform won the much coveted award in the category “Platform as a Service” for the international certificate management app for automobile manufacturers.

In a global market the efficient management of product certificates is of decisive importance for both manufacturers and their suppliers. Partner SSC-Services GmbH developed a software service for this on the basis of the Fabasoft Cloud Platform. Security is vital here. The global management of certificates takes place in team rooms, to which only explicitly authorized, invited and securely authenticated business contacts have access. Secure access is possible anytime and anywhere, also for mobile users.

Dr. Stefan Ried, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research and member of the jury, wrote in his blog: “Imagine the financial damage of a shipload of nice German cars exported to China, but sent back from a Chinese harbor because of missing certificate documents! SSC GmbH brought multiple companies together and leveraged Fabasoft’s Folio Cloud to bring unstructured and structured data into workflows and agile-developed business logic. Impressive leverage of Fabasoft’s PaaS.”

The Fabasoft Cloud Platform provides developers with a fully functional service-based eco system for the development, testing and operation of cloud applications in a familiar environment (Eclipse modeling framework). The agile, model-based approach in the cloud accelerates the implementation of customer and industry specific applications and leads to significant cost advantages. Fabasoft activates each Cloud App via a review process and operates the apps for developer partners in its security certified cloud data centers.

With the worldwide unique concept of cloud locations, the Fabasoft Cloud Platform offers the freedom of choice and assurance of a data residency option, including the possibility to set up private cloud locations that dock into the public cloud (hybrid cloud model).

The Fabasoft Cloud Developer Conference takes place December 12 – 14, 2012 in Linz, Austria. High caliber experts including Dr. Stefan Ried, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research and Christian Muntwiler, Management Consultant and lecturer at the St. Galler Business School, will be communicating the right way into the cloud with the Fabasoft Cloud Platform.

“Best in Cloud 2012 was an exhibition of the best cloud providers in the German speaking world”, assessed Heinrich Vaske, editor-in-chief at COMPUTERWOCHE. “The event demonstrated impressively how far advanced the paradigm shift in IT already is: Cloud solutions don’t just allow flexible IT landscapes to be built up at low costs but also enable innovative business ideas to be implemented that would be unthinkable with a conventional IT approach.”

Helmut Fallmann, Member of the Board of Directors, Fabasoft AG, is also convinced: “The Fabasoft Cloud Platform is the right route into the cloud for our partners because it is extremely powerful and provides mature ECM features at the cutting edge of technology. Cloud-to-market for us means the implementation of top quality customer-specific solutions and processes in record time – with Cloud Apps, the business applications of the future.”
