Consulting Magazine honors Slalom Consulting's Nicola Russell
Russell wins the Future Leader award at the Women Leaders in Consulting event

SEATTLE, Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Consulting Magazine has recognized Nicola Russell, director of talent management for Slalom Consulting, with its Future Leader Award. Russell was honored at the 2012 Women Leaders in Consulting awards event in New York for her extraordinary efforts helping women break barriers and blaze trails in the consulting profession.

With more than 12 years of consulting experience, Russell has headed employee development and talent management solutions as a consultant to both the Slalom firm and its clients. She leads Slalom's Talent Advisory Council and represents the national viewpoint on the firm's diversity initiatives in 11 markets. Her team has put in place dozens of learning programs, implemented an onboarding program and commissioned a talent management system. Her efforts have helped Slalom earn recognition as a 2012 Top 10 Best Firms to Work For by Consulting Magazine.

"We are at the same time delighted and not the least bit surprised about the honor Nicola has earned," said Slalom National General Manager John Tobin. "It made perfect sense for her to lead our firm's corporate strategy for talent management and to achieve this honor. We see her continuing the strong momentum of growth that she has established for our company across the nation."

Russell's success is a result of her passion for diversity, employee engagement and development, learning strategy and analysis, curriculum architecture and design, leadership development, and human performance improvement.

Consulting Magazine is considered the leading publication of the consulting profession. The publication received more than 400 nominations for its awards in the categories of Leadership, Client Service and Future Leaders, with only 11 individuals who earned award recognition.

At the ceremony, Russell was honored along with women leaders from other major consulting firms, including IBM, Deloitte Consulting, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Accenture, Mercer, PwC, Capco, Mesirow Financial Consulting and The Boston Consulting Group.
