I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

SOOH Media Founder and CEO Selected for Arizona Republic "35 Entrepreneurs 35 and Younger"

PHOENIX, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 11/07/12 -- Blake Quinn, Founder and CEO of the world's first social-out-of-home (SOOH) digital marketing and advertising platform, SOOH Media, has been selected to represent Arizona Republic's sixth annual class of "35 Entrepreneurs 35 and Younger." Blake joins an elite group of Phoenix entrepreneurs between the ages of 22 to 35 who have developed cutting edge companies in a wide range of sectors, including technology, advertising, banking and restaurant chains.

Blake started SOOH Media in 2011 with the idea of combining photo kiosk technology with the popularity of social networking. Originally named Fauxbooth, SOOH Media has since evolved into an interactive photo and video kiosk network that engages consumers and connects them with brands through proprietary and integrated local, social and mobile software. SOOH Media improves upon traditional digital-out-of-home (DOOH) advertising to help brands like NASCAR, CBS Radio, Lucky Strike Bowling, and the Phoenix Mercury better connect with their customers.

"To be selected for '35 Entrepreneurs 35 and Younger' is such an honor, especially when I look at all of the incredible entrepreneurs that were selected in this year's group," said Blake Quinn. "There is a lot of entrepreneurial talent here in Arizona, and I plan on continuing to promote Arizona as the new destination for entrepreneurs to start and grow successful companies."

SOOH Media joined Tallwave, a lean business accelerator and venture management firm, in November 2011 as a Venture Management portfolio company. Additionally, SOOH Media was recently selected as a 2012 ACA AZ Innovation Challenge Semi-Finalist. Before SOOH Media, Blake owned and operated Paper to Digital, a high-volume document scanning company that serviced the medical and litigation communities.

The Arizona Republic hosts the "35 Entrepreneurs 35 and Younger" each year to recognize the best and brightest entrepreneurs in Arizona. Applicants are required to submit an application detailing the characteristics of their company, as well as their view on what it means to be a young entrepreneur.

About SOOH Media:
SOOH Media is the world's first social-out-of-home network, providing on-premise, interactive photo and video kiosks that connect consumers and brands through an integrated digital advertising platform. SOOH Media helps digital out-of-home (DOOH) networks, agencies and brands improve digital engagement with their customers through a proprietary local, social, mobile marketing and sales platform.

SOOH Media is a portfolio company of Tallwave, a lean business accelerator and venture management company. SOOH Media is based in Phoenix, Arizona. For more information about SOOH Media, go to http://www.sooh.com or call 866.743.5856.
