-- CONNECTIONS™ Europe, 13-14 November in Amsterdam, features service providers, manufacturers, home automation companies showcasing new video, connected home, and energy solutions
DALLAS, Nov. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- New research from Parks Associates shows growing interest among U.K. broadband households for provider-deployed security services, with over one-third very interested in alerts on smartphones, PCs, and tablets for fire, water leaks, or open windows in their home. Thirty-five percent are very interested in an offering where appliances automatically adjust their settings to minimize electricity usage.
Parks Associates hosts CONNECTIONS™ Europe on 13-14 November in Amsterdam to showcase new solutions and monetization opportunities in energy, video services, home controls, and connected-home solutions. The conference features the keynote speakers Owen Hanks, GM, Mobile - Europe, YuMe; Jean C. Kiessling, Head, Business Development & Portfolio Management, Deutsche Telekom AG; and Kevin Petersen, SVP, AT&T Digital Life.
Provider deployment of multiscreen services in Europe trails North America, where 86% of pay-TV subscribers have access to TV Everywhere services versus 66% in Western Europe and 21% in Eastern Europe, according to Parks Associates.
"Only 16% of pay-TV households in the U.K. regularly use multiscreen services, but that is higher than the usage rates throughout the U.S., which range from 3% to 13% among the largest U.S. operators," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. "CONNECTIONS™ Europe offers an excellent lineup of participants with solutions that leverage consumer interest in connected-home solutions into successful services."
