TeamHealth Expands its Alabama Presence

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TeamHealth has expanded its Alabama presence through the acquisition of certain assets of Alabama ER Administrative Services, PC (AERAS) and by partnering with the physicians of ER Med, LLC, the physician groups that provided services to the emergency departments of Baptist Medical Center South, Baptist Medical Center East and Prattville Baptist Hospital in Montgomery, Ala. On November 1, TeamHealth commenced services for these emergency departments that care for approximately 125,000 patients annually. "TeamHealth provides the infrastructure and administrative support necessary to enhance quality and efficiencies in the ED," said John Moorehouse, MD, AERAS and ER Med president and chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine for Baptist Health. "The collaborative relationship between our physicians and TeamHealth will benefit the entire emergency department staff resulting in a boost in customer service and improvement in our ability to recruit and sustain emergency physicians for the community."
