SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/05/12 -- Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the performance company, today announced that at Cloud Expo 2012 it will focus on the intersection between software-defined data centers and application delivery. At the conference, taking place November 5-8 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif., Riverbed® Vice President of Products and Marketing, Stingray Business Unit, Apurva Davé, will speak on the industry's progression to software-defined data centers (SDDC) and multi-cloud deployments during the session, "The Software Defined Data Center: Will it Disrupt Your Application Delivery Strategy?" Additionally, the company will showcase its Stingray application delivery product family, which is designed to work within cloud environments to make applications faster, reliable, and secure. "Global IT has already shifted toward virtualization and cloud computing, and with software-defined data centers, organizations must adapt their application delivery strategy, or risk being left behind," said Davé. "Part of that strategy includes having an ADC that is cloud-aware, as dynamic as the application itself, and able to fit into changing environments. Stingray Traffic Manager software and virtual edition are the ideal ADC solutions to support these SDDC environments and accelerate multi-tier applications quickly and cost-efficiently across any private, public, and hybrid cloud environment." Unlike traditional application delivery controllers (ADC), software ADCs are designed to work within cloud environments and easily integrate into an application stack. Greater adoption of virtualization and migration to SDDCs increases the need for solutions that are easily adaptable. The Riverbed Stingray product family is comprised of three products that can be deployed as software or as a virtual editions: the Stingray Traffic Manager which is a full-featured ADC, Stingray Aptimizer, an industry-leading web content optimization platform, and Stingray Application Firewall, a sophisticated application firewall for deeper application level security. At Cloud Expo, Riverbed (booth #1010) will showcase the business benefits of the entire Riverbed Stingray product family, highlighting its ability to support dynamic environments, including SDDCs and the cloud. Conference goers can engage with Apurva Davé during the "The Software Defined Data Center: Will it Disrupt Your Application Delivery Strategy?" session taking place Tuesday, November 6 at 5:20 p.m. PT. Cloud Expo is one of the cloud industry's leading events at which cloud and Big Data professionals gather to exchange ideas, offer solutions and evaluate the impact the cloud has on organizations' business functions.
