More and more European superyachting companies are realising the potential market in Russia and investing in a Russian presence. This is my first visit to Moscow and will certainly not be the last, the dynamism, culture and entrepreneurialism of the friendly people here making it an attractive destination – and then there are those beautiful girls everywhere you look...
While MIBS is still mainly devoted to smaller yachts there are some top quality superyacht builders at the show including Benetti from Italy, Vitters and Royal Huisman from The Netherlands and joint Russian-Dutch Timmerman Yachts, based in Moscow, who have some exciting projects on the way from the design studios of Jon Bannenberg Ltd and Martin Francis in London.
For the superyacht charter and sales Brokerage market, international brokerage house Fraser Yachts has its dedicated Russian team here over from its Monaco head office, including Dennis Frederiksen in sales (centre) and Valeria Alekhina in charter (pictured left). Alekhina says “Personally, I have had the opportunity to catch up with a number of existing clients during the show and also make new connections through travel agents, personal assistants and captains of potential new charterers of superyachts”.

About Nick JefferyNick Jeffery has devoted his life to the world of yachting. Having qualified as a naval architect he worked in the studio of Ed Dubois.
