Sony Ericsson Announces the K510 - a New 1.3 Megapixel Camera Phone; Say Goodbye to Red Eye and Have Fun With Photos Before You

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Ericsson today announces the K510, an elegant and modern megapixel camera phone with Bluetooth(R), email and fun imaging effects to enhance favorite photos. The K510 is the smallest 1.3 megapixel phone from Sony Ericsson to date, yet perfect for capturing and sharing spontaneous favorite photos.

"The K510 is all about capturing good quality shots and the ability to easily share them with friends and family," says Najmi Jarwala, president Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, Inc. (USA). "For a mid-priced phone, the picture quality is excellent, and you have a variety of choices for sharing photos -- email, Bluetooth(TM), MMS or Infrared -- whatever is most convenient.

"We've added several new fun imaging effects to the K510 so you can also have a lot of fun with your pictures before you share them," he added.

Before sharing, pictures can be made more captivating with simple effects including sepia color and panorama views. For those with a sense of humor 'face warping' allows you to select numerous new looks for your subjects.

The Phone Flash MXE-60, an optional accessory, eliminates red-eye and delivers great shots after dark. With a 262k colors TFT display it is easy to sort through your pictures by viewing thumbnails sorted by date.

The K510 is an excellent mid-priced handset for the mobile office -- the included USB cable makes it easy to connect with your PC. The K510 offers Bluetooth, industry-standard email support, as well as excellent talk and standby times. New PC synchronization software keeps the user right up to date with the full suite of Microsoft(R) Office Outlook(R) applications, including Calendar, Contacts, Notes and Tasks.

The K510 is available in Midnight Black or Polished Purple. Accessories include the brand new Bluetooth headset HBH-PV705 in matching colors, the HCA-60 car holder and the MXE-60 flash.

The Sony Ericsson K510 is a Triple Band GPRS handset and starts shipping globally during Q2 2006. Variations are:
