12/06/2005 - iAnywhere, a subsidiary of Sybase, announced the availability of the latest release of its award-winning M-Business Anywhere. The solution provides developers with a platform for delivering Web-based content and applications to mobile devices rapidly and cost-effectively for online and disconnected use. IrSimple Protocol
12/13/2005 - iAnywhere, a subsidiary of Sybase, today announced that it will support the Infrared Data Association's (IrDA) IrSimple Protocol and Profile specifications. IrSimple enables mobile devices to instantly connect and wirelessly transmit data. Devices that may benefit from the support of IrSimple include digital cameras, mobile phones, PDAs, televisions, and more. iAnywhere's complete line of infrared software development kits, including IrDA SDK and Multi-Transport OBEX SDK, will be updated to be compatible with the specification in the first calendar year quarter of 2006. During this same timeframe, the company plans to unveil IrSimple SDK, an additional offering that will enable developers to achieve instant compliance with the IrSimple standard for new product designs moving forward. The IrSimple SDK and related product updates will enable device manufacturers to update their designs to the latest IrDA standards with minimum effort while retaining backward-compatibility with the IrDA's point-and-shoot profile for object exchange. The company's proven SDK model provides licensees with reliable, interoperable, standards-compliant functionality in a small-footprint, highly portable source code package. Application authors benefit by using the same widely deployed OBEX interface used by existing IrDA, Bluetooth, and Data Synchronization licensees.
