Macromedia and Limelight Networks has announced the immediate availability of Limelight MediaEdge Streaming for Macromedia Flash. The service enables scalable Flash media streaming on the advanced Limelight content delivery network and leverages the new Macromedia Flash Media Server 2.

In addition, Limelight Networks is now a Macromedia Flash Video Streaming Service partner. Macromedia and Limelight Networks are working together to provide media and entertainment companies' deployment of advanced Flash video experiences for movies and trailers, TV shows, broadcast media, advertising, and major events with Limelight MediaEdge Streaming for Macromedia Flash.

Flash video is delivered via Macromedia Flash Player, allowing content publishers to reach the largest possible audience on the web and to deploy high-quality online video across all major platforms and browsers, while lowering the costs of development, quality assurance, and support. Flash Player is currently installed on over 600 million desktops and mobile devices globally.
