CMS News Desk China’s Green Dam Reportedly Goes Bust
The Beeb quoted state-controlled reports that said the company let its Beijing team go for lack of govt funding

The BBC says that the stolen Green Dam snooping software that China tried last year to foist on all PC makers that wanted to sell boxes in the country is going down for the count. The Beeb quoted state-controlled reports that said the company let its Beijing team go for lack of government funding. Before outside resistance changed Big Brother's mind, the government contended it wanted the software installed on every PC to filter out pornographic and violent content. Civil rights activists complained it was really all about politically sensitive material. The software was ripped off an American firm, which filed a still pending $2.2 billion infringement suit against the Chinese government, the two Chinese ISVs involved and seven cooperative PC makers.
