Do you recall BEA's Alfred Chuang giving interviews to the trade press as recent as early last year and swearing to God that BEA customers did not give a rat's dudu about Eclipse? Then what happened? BEA proudly announced their membership to Eclipse.org this year. IBM's "hefty" open source announcement which is coming tomorrow will turn the screws another 360 degrees on Microsoft. I was watching the entire "Open Source coverage" this morning at CNBC which aired at the 6 am - 7 am time slot, complete with the Red Hat CEO as the guest host. It had some interesting conversation and commentary for a financial cable channel. I hope Microsoft taped this hour and they watch it in its entirety. Intersting stuff... What I mean by that is, what are the chances that MS is donating their "Studio" source code to the open source community? Hey we saw the end of Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall (as well as blackberry) in our life time, we may see many other interesting stuff if we live long enough. :-) posted Tuesday, 11 October 2005 12:54 PM Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
