Oracle’s Date with Sun Dicey

The Wall Street Journal doesn't think Oracle can make its end-of-August schedule for closing its Sun acquisition because of the regulators on both sides of the pond. The paper's also talked to legal experts that say Oracle may be required to divest something or accept licensing conditions to get the deal through. The European Commission has been soliciting opinions about whether the level of competition or pricing in databases, middleware or Java is threatened by the combine.
