Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Marketing Company Helps Center for Advanced Legal Studies
Tendenci Powered Web site increases visibility for ABA approved and accredited paralegal college

HOUSTON, August 12, 2009 – The Center for Advanced Legal Studies, a leader in paralegal education, is using an upgraded presence on the Web to help expand to serve aspiring paralegals across the country. Schipul – The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com) designed the Center’s upgraded Web site, www.paralegal.edu, which is powered by Tendenci online management software (www.tendenci.com). “The Internet is our main marketing tool through which we attract the majority of our new contacts, send e-newsletters and post new articles,” said Gail Armatys, chief administrative officer with the Center. “With Tendenci,  our team can edit and update the Web site without going through a third party, which makes us more efficient and keeps the site fresh and new.”

Despite the economic downturn, the Center for Advanced Legal Studies is serving a rapidly growing market. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth for paralegals and legal assistants is expected to hit 22 percent between 2006 and 2016. This is much faster than the average for all occupations. The Bureau estimates that paralegals and legal assistant held approximately 238,000 jobs in 2006, the most recent year for which statistics are available.

Now in its 22nd year, the Center recently secured approval from their accrediting body and the American Bar Association to offer online classes. Through this designation, the Center has transitioned from being the Texas specialist in paralegal training to an educational institution that may now provide an opportunity for national and international students to receive the same high quality, broad range of paralegal skills and knowledge that its traditional students have always been given.

To connect with aspiring paralegals nationwide, the Center’s Web site offers the ability to fill out an application online, faculty and staff bios, a virtual tour, career placement services, tuition planning and online payment and an online alumni network. Tendenci, which is developed and marketed by Schipul – The Web Marketing Company,  makes it possible for the Center to create and send e-newsletters with just a few mouse clicks, quickly and easily post news announcements and embed online videos of student testimonials.

To maximize the Center’s visibility on Google and other search engines, Tendenci automates certain aspects of search engine optimization. Additionally, Tendenci’s integrated Really Simple Syndication (RSS) enables site users to subscribe to the Center’s updates.
